Dr. Stefany Holguín, Principal of Salt Perspectives
Founder & Principal Advisor

Dr. Stefany Holguín, PhD

Former Presidential Innovation Fellow at the VA. Materials scientist. Commercial MedTech strategist.

Background

Dr. Stefany Holguín founded Salt Perspectives on a background built across three distinct vantage points. At Becton Dickinson, she managed $250M in biologics and drug-device combination programs for Eli Lilly, Pfizer, and GSK — then led SaaS readiness strategy for a medical device software portfolio with $3B in revenue. As a Presidential Innovation Fellow and Chief Science Officer at the VA, she spent four years on the buyer side, evaluating and shaping what actually got funded, piloted, and adopted inside the nation's largest integrated health system. The foundation underneath all of it is a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech, with research in nanomaterials and drug delivery. That combination — bench science, commercial MedTech, and federal buyer fluency — is what Salt Perspectives is built on.

Origin of the Name
The MSE Standard

In Materials Science and Engineering, NaCl represents one of the most thermodynamically favorable crystal structures — the literal benchmark for structural integrity. A geometry that resists chaos and defines stability at the molecular level.

The Biological Imperative

Saline is not a supplement; it is a requirement. The fundamental fluid of life, the conductor of the electrical signals that allow a heart to beat and a brain to think. Without the salt, the system ceases to function.

The Roman Salary

Salt was the "White Gold" of the ancient world. Roman soldiers were paid in it — the origin of the word salary. A unit of value, a preservative of progress, and a catalyst for trade across empires.
